2014 Dodge Durango Sales Accelerate, Partly Due to Ron Burgundy Campaign

Ever since it hit dealership lots like our own Leesburg, VA showroom, the newly-redesigned 2014 Dodge Durango has been an absolute smash hit with consumers near and far. But don't just take our word for it, the numbers support that claim as well. The stylish and powerful SUV model has posted year-over-year sales increases that are over ten percent, and in August, the model sold 117 percent more units than it did in the same month in 2012.

And although we were not sure this was even possible, but it looks like the Durango has gained even more popularity in the past couple of months, as the model has been featured in a prominent and hilarious new ad campaign that also features comedian Will Ferrell as his infamous Ron Burgundy character, star of the upcoming Anchorman 2 movie.

These new 2014 Durango commercials were created with the movie production company, Paramount, and they are truly hilarious in a classic Anchorman type of way. They do a great job of highlighting both great aspects of the Durango (there are many) and the hilarious aspects of the movie, all at the same time. But has the public found these ads as favorably as we have at the dealership?

Indeed they have. While some industry analysts doubted that the Durango could sell any faster, that's exactly what appears to have happened after the commercials debuted mid-October, as sales numbers have risen another 59 percent in that time period.
