Record Attempt Subaru Hits the Street

One of the most well-known Subaru models is getting a new, more powerful trim option. The 2018 Subaru WRX STI Type RA will be lighter, stronger, and more reactive than non-RA models. The relationship to the WRX STI Type RA NBR, which will be trying to break the Nürburgring circuit lap record, inspired the naming, with RA standing for "Record Attempt."

A carbon fiber roof panel and rear wing work to reduce the weight, as do leaving out the spare tire and lightweight BBS forged-alloy wheels. The engine changes include stronger pistons, a new cold-air intake, a high-flow exhaust system, and a retuned ECU help to increase the horsepower. Other vehicle tweaks help to adjust handling and stability.

The WRX STI Type RA will have a limited production of 500 vehicles, and won't be available until the first quarter of next year. While you wait for the release, come over to Dulles Motorsport and take a look at our new vehicle inventory. Our wide variety of vehicles ensure that you will find the perfect one for you.
