2016 Subaru Outback is the Wagon You Want

A fan favorite among critics and consumers alike, there's no doubt a whole heck of a lot to love about our esteemed Japanese automaker's midsize wagon, the 2016 Subaru Outback.

Just ask Autotrader commentator Jabari Jones.

He recently took the Outback for a test run, an experience he evidently very much enjoyed. Witness the whole thing go down in the video below:

If you feel your need for speed is especially ravenous, it's likely that the Outback's top-tier trim -- the 3.6R -- is the one for you. Served up standard with a continuously variable transmission and Subaru's legendary all-wheel-drive platform, this 3.6-liter six-cylinder produces a punchy 256 horsepower and 247 pound-feet of torque.

And yet, despite all the added athleticism, the 3.6R somehow manages to remain pretty gosh-darn fuel-efficient, too. Rated at a respectable 22 mpg combined (20 city/27 highway), this six-banger is brilliant.
