Trim Levels (Exterior)
With its flowing lines, sporty front fascia, and tiger-nose grille, the Forte boasts an attractive exterior design. Trendy paint options include Deep Sea Blue, Silky Silver, Fire Orange, and Currant Red. The sedan is available in six trim levels, namely the FE, LXS, GT-Line, EX, GT, and GT Manual. The base trim is equipped with standard features such as daytime running lights, 15-inch steel wheels, and projector-beam headlights, while the LXS trim adds a space-saver spare tire, chrome exhaust tip, and 16-inch alloy wheels.
The long list of features added with the GT-Line trim includes a rear lid spoiler, a sport grille, black exterior accents, and perimeter approach lighting. Engine (Power)
You can choose from two engines with the Forte. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder is available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable automatic transmission and generates an output of 147 horsepower and 132 pound-feet of torque. For a more robust output of 201 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque, opt for the GT trim, which is powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that pairs with a seven-speed automatic transmission. The GT manual trim is equipped with the same engine but features a six-speed manual transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard on all trims.
Performance
You'll receive an overall agreeable ride from the Forte. The sedan is stable around corners and provides well-weighted steering and firm yet comfortable suspension. In addition, the Forte offers good fuel economy, especially if you opt for the standard engine with the automatic suspension. This powertrain's fuel efficiency is rated at 41 mpg on the highway and 31 mpg in the city.
Interior
The Forte's cabin is well-trimmed, attractive, and spacious. It offers plenty of head- and legroom for both rear and front passengers, and the 15.3-cubic-foot trunk is one of the largest in its class.
