The 2022 Wrangler has launched, and it impresses drivers everywhere. While the exact features are unknown, some features are expected to remain the same with minor updates. The new model year will offer tremendous off-road capability, some exciting changes both inside and out, and that classic Jeep aesthetic that you know and love. Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2022 Wrangler will be available in as many as 15 different trim levels. These will include the Sport, Willys Sport, Sport S, Islander, Willys, Freedom, 80th Anniversary, Sport Altitude, RHD, Sahara, Rubicon, Sahara Altitude, and the High Altitude. You can choose exterior color options such as Sting-Gray, Sarge Green, Hellayella, and Snazzberry Pearl. The Rubicon will come with steel bumpers, a winch, and rock rails. An available Performance Parts option will add a 2-inch lift kit for some extra ground clearance.
Each trim level also features exclusive wheel options for a bold, demanding design. You also get the option for a removable hardtop or soft top, along with removable doors for more of that open-air freedom you crave.
Engine (Power)
Many of the engine options from 2021 will be carried into the new model year. There's the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged engine as well as a V-6 3.6-liter option. With the 3.6-liter, you get up to 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque, while the 2.0-liter delivers 375 pound-feet of torque and 470 horsepower. There will also be a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine added on the Rubicon 392 trim level. The eight-speed automatic transmission is paired to most engines for an improved, smoother ride. There's also an available six-speed manual for those who want a little more control.
Performance
The off-road-ready Wrangler is packed with performance features that are ready to take you anywhere. The four-wheel-drive system lets you navigate your way through trails and up steep hills and is just as impressive in snow. The Wrangler also allows you to haul up to 3,500 pounds, so you can hook up your boat, trailer, or small RV with ease and head out for a weekend full of adventure. Additional features include traction control, electronic stability control, and hill start assist.
Interior
Inside the new Wrangler, you'll find a combination of advanced technology, capability, and comfort features. The soft-touch dash offers a higher-end feel, and you'll find chrome accents on buttons and controls. Standard cloth seating can be upgraded to leather. The 7-inch touch-screen display can also be swapped for a floating 8.4-inch display. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto allow you to connect and access navigation, text messages, and your favorite playlists.
Safety Features
A series of driver assistance and standard safety features will help to protect you while on the road. Available driver assistance features include a high-definition surround vision camera, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, active lane control, and adaptive cruise control. In the event of a rollover or collision, you'll be kept protected by high-strength door guard beams and an advanced air bag system.
